Whether it’s back in the Dominican Republic or at Taft, family plays an essential role for Sebastian Manon.

In part, that explains why the Class of 2022 center back was elected Big Red co-captain as a junior. Last year, he also captained his home country during a Concacaf U-20 qualifying tournament as they chased a spot in the since-canceled FIFA U-20 World Cup.

A natural leader, Manon hopes that background and skillset soon translates to the Ivy League. The 18-year-old verbally committed to Dartmouth in recent days, with something “just clicking” when he talked with head coach Bo Oshoniyi and his assistant coaches.
